Visualizing Internet Usage by Country

         Source: ourworldindata.org

For this assignment, I have chosen a data visualization from Our World in Data, which shows the internet usage by country, measured as the percentage of the country's population.

In this visualizaiton we can see a world map where each country is shaded based on its level of internet usage. The darker shaded regions show a higher usage percentage, and the lower shaded region shows a lower percentage of usage. This color gradient approach allows for easier visualization of the difference from one country to another. This map also gives you the ability to select the year dating back to 1990, so you can see how the use of the internet has evolved over the years.

I believe this visualization was created by humans and not AI. The choices of using this shaded color and pecentage of usage make it very easy to understand the information presented. This design prioritizes clarity, which makes it easier for a broad audience to analyze.

I have read the syllabus and understand the course structure, grading, and peer‑review process.
